Clara Hartman has been named semi-finalist in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. She will be continuing in the Merit Scholarship competition. September 2011.

Alexandra Quinn and Leia Alex havebeen named Commended students for the National Merit program. They are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise and have placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students. September2011.

OUTSTANDING ATHLETES

Congratulations to the following Soquel High athletes who were selected for all-SCCAL team honors. Baseball: Nat Hamby, pitcher first team; Tyler Silva, catcher second team; ChrisViall, pitcher second team; Caleb Fidiam and Scotty Akrop, infielderssecond team, Andrew Schmidt, outfielder second team.
Boys' Track: Isaac Gettleman, second place 400m; John Tobin, second place high jump.
Girls' track: 4x100 relay, first place; Kendra Bonsall, 100m first place and 200msecond place; Madeline Diaz, 200m first place; Hailey Fish, pole vaultfirst place, Natalie Diaz, high jump second place.
Boys' Volleyball: Graham Denevan, first team outside hitter, Alex Shearer, second team middle blocker, Sam Walters, second team outside hitter.

Boys' golf: Kyle Graff and Neddie Gleitsman.
Softball and Lacrosse were not yet available.

Boys Volleyball at Soquel had a great season due to dedicated Coaches Rick and Brett, and motivated teams of solid, committed players, all of whom helped theteam make it's first CCS appearance in a while! In addition, for thefirst time in many years, Soquel high had a JV volleyball team, and allboys interested in learning/playing competitive volleyball encouraged to join next year!!
